魏楚予，1945年生。著名画家、邮票设计家、书法家、中国人民大学徐悲鸿艺术学院教授、曾任中国人民解放军总政治部军事博物馆专职艺术家，中国美术家协会会员、中国书法家协会会员、中国博物馆学会会员、日本国际水墨画协会理事、澳门老年书画协会顾问，被中共中央党史研究室聘为《百年中华英烈颂》艺术大展的艺术总监。中国古代军事博物馆总体设计师。毕业于北京中央美术学院附中、杭州中国美术学院。曾师从颜文梁、潘天寿、林风眠、倪贻德、罗工柳、陈大羽诸艺术大师。
　　主要作品：肖像油画《毛泽东在陕北》、《毛泽东在中南海》被国家邮电部选中，印制发行了《毛泽东同志诞生100周年》纪念邮票并荣获中华人民共和国1993年全国最佳邮票奖。两幅油画现存国家邮电部被视为“国宝”。《巴基斯坦总统扎尔达里肖像》被总统阁下收藏并邀请魏楚予访问巴基斯坦，油画《淮海大战》（合作）曾获国家金奖。肖像作品国际著名数学家《熊庆来》，建筑学家《梁思成》，微生物学家《汤飞凡》，医学家《张孝骞》，中国元帅《罗荣桓》，均被国家邮电部选中，印制发行了《中国现代科学家第三组》、《罗荣桓同志诞生90周年》纪念邮票。近年应海内外之邀，创作了毛泽东与何贤，中国政协副主席马万祺，厦门大学校长潘懋元，英国前首相丘吉尔、韩国大宇公司总裁金宇中，德国驻华大使史丹泽等国内外名人肖像。1997年，油画作品《扬州瘦西湖》被江泽民主度收藏。魏楚予从1992-1999年，历时七年完成的大型油画《求索》真实再现了毛主席在中南海故居日常工作学习的场景，受到了中央首长和广大群众的肯定与热爱，湖南韶山毛泽东同志纪念馆隆重陈列此画，毛主席的儿子毛岸青家将此画悬挂在正厅，华国锋同志，澳门特首何厚铧，政协副主席马万褀，也收藏了此画。2003年应澳门政府之邀魏楚予携此画与其他作品在澳门举办个人画展受到热烈欢迎，特首何厚铧、马万祺副主席亲自接见，并收藏其作品《毛泽东与何贤》、《马万祺像》。国画和书法作品也多次在国内外展出，获奖，被收藏。中国“天下第一财神庙”杭州灵顺寺将其书法作品“上善若水”等刻碑永久陈列。2007年中央电视台全国表彰道德模范人物大会使用魏题写的“道德的力量”题词。

　　Born in 1945, Wei Chuyu had been enlightened by Luo Gongliu, the master of Chinese oil painting. He was admitted to the Attached Middle School of China Central Academy of Find Arts at the age of 15 and was then admitted to Zhejiang Academy of Fine Art(formerly known as the West Lake Institute of Arts and now known as China Academy of Art) where he recieved the first-class art education of the academic style in a complete system.He has been engaged in the professional work of art for consecutive 50 years. He was personally taught by Chinese masters of modem art including Luo Gongliu,Pan Tianshou,Yan Wenliang,Lin Sanzhi and Chen Dayu,when a solid foundation for Chinese and westem painting and calligraphy was laid.
　　Main works include oil painting"Mao Zedong in Northern Shanxi","Mao Zedong in Zhongnanhai"(both were publishied and printed as Memorial Stamps to mark the 100 Ammiversary of Comrade Mao Zedong's Birtyday by the Post and Telecommunication Ministry of the PRC. And the set of stamps won the Best Stamps Award of China in 1993). Oil painting"The Huaihai Campaign"jointly created with others artists(won the First PLA Literature and Arts Award),oil painting"Landscape of Yangzhou"(collected by former President of the PRC. Mr.Jiang Zemin.),sketch portrait of Mr.Asif Ali Zadari,the President of Pakistan(collected by His Excellency Mr. Zadari),the oil painting "Searching for Truth" and "Run Daiying",and his calligraphy and Chinese painting works have been exhibited,awarded and collected in China,US,Canada,France,Japan and Singapore.
