文殊菩萨在大乘佛教中被赋予智慧的象征，表示对一切事物和现象具有敏锐的洞察力和很高的领悟力，因而受到人们的顶礼膜拜。其坐骑雄狮象征着“智之威猛”。此尊文殊头戴五叶宝冠，层带于耳后飞扬，面相方圆，眉似弯月，双目微睁，直鼻小口，耳垂圆珰，身体略向右倾，姿势优美。身穿天衣，下着长裙，胸前饰项圈璎珞，肩披帔帛，左手扶膝，右手安搭于莲座上，作自然嬉戏状。座下雄狮温顺地匍匐于莲台之上，回首望向主尊，细密而华丽的毛发刻画栩栩如生。狮子的形态温顺而不失威严，更加凸显了文殊的尊贵。整器制作精细，造型生动，鎏金厚实，线条流畅，保存完好。 The gilt bodhisattva cast seated upon a lotus throne in lalitasana with his right foot resting on lotus throne， the right hand resting on the right knee in vitarka mudra with the left hand placed by the left leg， the serene face flanked by a pair of long pendulous earlobes with earrings， adorned in a diadem， wearing beaded necklaces， bracelets， armbands， all resting on a stand cast in the form of a caparisoned Buddhist lion with its head turned to upward， its large bulging eyes， thick eyebrows and mane meticulously detailed， all supported on a lotus base with beaded edges. |
