巴什拉的房间：所有纷乱、平静、破碎又坚不可摧的

半个多世纪前，加斯东·巴什拉提出了物质和想象同构的空间诗学。巴什拉的房间是一个超越几何学概念的内在世界，隐秘，自足，带着单向与循环的特征，仿佛人们穿过一节节车厢，而火车正缓慢穿过南方炎热的午后。现在，这个飘荡着情感、幻想和回忆的房间多少有些老旧了：激情太容易耗损，回忆总是很快褪色，尤其在经历全球疫情带来的封闭和隔绝后，孤独已没有一丝黑巧克力般的甜美或欢愉，只剩下苦涩本身。

我们依然在房间内，愕然如隔着飞掠的车窗，任由暴虐的速度不断篡改感知和现实。这个时代的空间叙事不再有私密和分享的意味，只能藉由变异、冲突、缺席和消逝来实现。DADE? 画廊的开馆展将呈现付帅、刘国强、彭涛、王静和袁泽强五位年轻艺术家的绘画、纸本作品。他们卓异的个性与方法，多媒介的实践，体现了当代艺术多元的认知框架和迷人的能量，同时在并置、对话和可能的共振中探讨一种可能，一个想象的维度。

Over a half century ago, Gaston Bachelard floated the idea of interplay between material and imagination in his book The Poetics of Space. Bachelard’s Room is an inner world free from the fetters of geometric concepts, it is secret, self-sufficient, and a one-way loop to some extent—as if people are passing by one carriage after another in a train slowly travelling through a hot afternoon in the south. Now this room charged with sentiments, fantasies and memories has stepped into its old age: passions wear off too easy, memories always fade fast, and solitude has been deprived of all its black-chocolate-liked sweetness and pleasure after experiencing the block and isolation brought about by the global pandemic, with bitterness alone left behind.

We are still in this Room, stunned as if looking through flying train windows, we can’t do anything but let the speed of tyranny endlessly tamper with perceptions and realities. The space narratives of this age snub privacy and participation, and they can only be revealed through mutation, conflict, absence and disappearance. The opening show of DADE? Gallery will present paintings, works on paper created by five young artists, namely Fu Shuai, Liu Guoqiang, Peng Tao, Wang Jing and Yuan Zeqiang. Their extraordinary personalities, methods, and multi-medium practices embody the diverse cognitive framework and enchanting energy of contemporary art. At the same time, they explore a possibility, a dimension of imagination in juxtaposition, talk and potential resonance.
