William Furniss moved to Hong Kong in 1993 after working in his native London with some of the world抯 top photographic talent, including a year long stint with Lord Patrick Litchfield. Working as an independent photographer since his arrival in Hong Kong, Furniss continues to refine and develop his unique style of reportage fine art photography. Unobtrusively working out in the streets, he has covered many miles on several continents in pursuit of the one elusive image. Through exploring the limits of the light and exposure within the camera and large panoramic printings, Furniss aims to capture the emotional experience of fantastic motion in every image.
In all his work, Furniss maintains his philosophy of combining hunter-like instinct and patience for that 揹ecisive moment? minimal use of equipment and strict avoidance of manipulation of images.
Previous exhibitions in Hong Kong include 114ºE/74ºW in June 2001 and 2002, sponsored by Epson and United Airlines at 10 Chancery Lane Gallery. Also the 2nd Annual China International Gallery Exposition in May 2005 in Beijing, presented by 10 Chancery Lane Gallery.
